For the RockBander who has everything ...
Since I have a birthday coming up *hint hint* I'm looking around for that perfect something to put on my wish list. Something that matches my personality, something both fanciful and practical, full of whimsy and common sense.
Behold, the most adorable drum mod ever!

Not only do they help muffle the tappity taps, they keep your drums warm and cozy! Yes, they really are crocheted Rock Band drum kit cosies ... and they match your drum pads!
Unfortunately, they are on sold out right now (I imagine they take quite a long time to make) but she takes custom orders.
Now if only I could find someone to knit me a gig bag.

I saw these the other day, and honestly I think they're awesome. They may look like you intend to put pots and pans on your drums, but to silence the taps of an over-zealous drummer: priceless!
The only problem with these is that though they muffle the sound, you have to strike harder with the drum stick...I mean I'd hate to be playing and get a couple of notes to not register due to the absorbtion of the material...
Yeah, on some songs I play too lightly for these to be practical but there are some that I really like bang away on. My daughter could use these, for sure. But they do LOOK cute.
the muffling is a major plus. I usually play guitar and all I hear is this incessant beating that drives me nuts!
Ditto! As a singer who has to sit close to the drums, I get totally thrown off. I even thought my mic was going because I couldn't hit the percussion parts ... it turned out I couldn't keep time because my drummer was off beat.
And no, it wasn't Tim, it was my daughter ... :P
